On Thursday 23 September 2010 the exhibition Jiří Růžek – IN THE MOONLIGHT OF THE CENTRAL HIGHLANDS (V LÚNĚ STŘEDOHOŘÍ) was opened at the Na Bašté photo gallery in Litoměřice. With the help of photographs and a few words I will try to describe the course of the day and the feelings from this event.

The whole afternoon and evening went without a single problem. The environment of the Bašta is fantastic, and framing and hanging the photographs with the help of the members of the Porta photo club went smoothly. I rarely get to Litoměřice these days, so I was all the more pleased by the attendance of many of my friends, mostly photographers and musicians. Among the guests were my family, the mayor of Litoměřice and once my long-time bandmate Ladislav Chlupáč, my first photography teacher Miroslav Hvorka, the director and one of the cornerstones of Czech rock’n’roll Vladimír Polák, Miroslav Zimmer, Radim Tuček, Richard Špitt and others (mostly with wives or partners); from Prague came, for the photographers, Ludmila Foblová and Ján Hronský, for the models Viktoria Dmitrieva with Roman, and for the other friends Juraj Zverko with Alenka.

Once again I thank everyone involved for their help and support. And the rest of you, who didn’t make it to the opening, I warmly invite to visit the exhibition IN THE MOONLIGHT OF THE CENTRAL HIGHLANDS, which is on right now.
