We finally have spring back and I haven’t written you anything for a long time. It’s not that there was nothing to write about, but somehow time, mood and energy never came together enough for me to be able to concentrate for a while on something more coherent.
Even now I’m forcing myself a bit; like every year I looked forward to spring and like every year a crazy spring fatigue hit me. Maybe it’s also because since the beginning of the year I have actually got more behind me than I expected and planned. But as with everything, it’s mainly about catching the right pace.
I have shot a lot – maybe so much that if I took a break for the rest of the year and just pulled out already shot pictures, nobody would even notice. My photographs this year are (at least for now) rougher than in other years, more provocative, more on the edge. There is no intention in it, we all have our periods and it simply came this way.
To classic photography I added three-dimensional shooting and quite recently I set out in yet another direction of visual presentation; I’ll reveal more once there are some concrete results I’ll want to bring to light.

I dusted off my forgotten Russian even more, mainly thanks to repeated shooting with the excellent model Ksenia Michalčuk from Izhevsk in Udmurtia, about whom I will certainly write more here, but also thanks to growing contacts with other Russian and Ukrainian models, photographers and fans. Russian shops, inconspicuously multiplying around Vinohrady, have their share too.
I handed in photographs for one book and for another I am currently finishing the shooting and selecting a large series of pictures. One should come out in summer, the other in autumn, but after my experience with the book Nude Photography, which came out under strange circumstances a year and a half late, I’d rather not talk at all about whether and when they will come out, or whether they will end up containing my photographs. These days, though, the book Dame Tus Ojos (Give Me Your Eyes) is coming out in Spain, for whose cover my photograph from 2004 was used (see Books for more). It is the Spanish version of a detective novel by the Scandinavian author Torsten Pettersson.
My 5 or 6 year old computer died. Fortunately I didn’t lose any data, so it only forced me to finally carry out a long-planned upgrade and work again on a modern machine that doesn’t hold me back. It is a very pleasant change, because the increase in performance is shocking. Now just to overcome the spring fatigue and start using it fully 🙂
