Experience the world of X-Photographers first-hand!
Come to a group exhibition presenting a total of 27 photographers from around the world, prepared by FUJIFILM.
X-Photographers are the world photographic elite working with FUJIFILM X series cameras, limited neither to particular themes nor to ways of working. It is precisely this diversity that will play an important role at the exhibition. The photographers‘ range of subjects is wide, so the exhibition will be divided by colour into 9 sections presenting 9 themes.
The backbone of the exhibition is formed by 9 Czech X-Photographers, each representing one theme, complemented by 18 world X-Photographers bringing other approaches and ways of working. The exhibition will thus confront Czech photography with the world’s in the unique premises of the Czech Photo Centre.
The X-Photographers exhibition brings to the Czech Republic the unique work of world photographers, artists and adventurers who are also holders of prestigious awards such as World Press Photo, Sony World Photography, International Photography of the Year or Czech Press Photo. Their photographs are also often published in renowned publications such as TIME magazine, The New York Times, the Guardian and others.
You will also meet the exhibiting photographers as lecturers at the many talks and practical workshops planned as part of the exhibition.
The exhibition will run at the Czech Photo Centre from 7 December 2017 to 14 January 2018.

Twice already he could not resist the lure of New Zealand, in Nepal he walked snow-covered passes where nobody had gone for a few years, he stood on the highest peaks of Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia, and on the Argentinian volcano Ojos del Salado he savoured the thin air at almost 7,000 metres.

GLAMOUR, PORTRAIT
Jiří Růžek (CZ)
He is among the leading contemporary Czech photographers of artistic nude. His work is represented in many books from world publishers; as one of few Czech authors he is also published by Taschen. For him photography is a dialogue between photographer and model; he builds his work on simplicity and believability, accepts the environment as it is, shoots without makeup artists and assistants, lights almost exclusively with one light or uses any light source at hand, and approaches retouching only exceptionally. He calls his style uglamour and explains it as natural glamour.

MUSIC/DANCE
Jiří Štarha (CZ)
He devotes himself mainly to reportage photography focused on the world of music, events and streets. Jiří is himself an active musician, so concert photography is very close to him. He can capture dynamic and compelling expressions of musicians on stage thanks also to his thirty years of experience in the arts and performance.
Omar Z Robles (USA)
A New York photographer who concentrates on photographing ballet dancers in the streets of New York. He transforms the aesthetics of street photography by letting dancers drift into an empty street, where they receive all the attention. Omar’s dancers tell stories, and the result of this project is an army of miniature stories expressed through the movements of the dancers‘ graceful bodies. Omar’s inspiration comes from the famous French mime Marceau, who taught him in Paris to express emotions and stories through movement.
WEDDING
Vojta Hurych (CZ)
He devotes himself above all to wedding photography, in which he tries to avoid „kitsch“ and instead tell a story through photographs. When capturing the wedding events he puts great emphasis on reportage style and naturalness. He long ago stopped hanging dresses on trees for a photo, and he doesn’t shoot rings either. He would rather always run to where people are laughing, because in his view wedding photography should be full of emotion rather than a stilted product catalogue. Besides shooting weddings he also devotes himself to his own work, for which he has won several awards in the prestigious CZECH PRESS PHOTO competition.
Kevin Mullins (Great Britain)
A reportage wedding photographer who documents the wedding from the guests‘ point of view. He lets events flow naturally and doesn’t rush into staged poses.
