Today it is exactly a year since Anna first stood in front of the lens. In mid-January 2009 I received an e-mail with three attached casual photographs and the question whether I would like to shoot some photographs with a Slovak student. My immediate reaction was: I would be crazy not to want to shoot with you. I don’t regret it.
Every model starts somewhere. So what makes Anna exceptional as a model, and why write about her in particular?
Anna is something that can be called every photographer’s dream. Her charisma and tremendous photogenic quality can be seen in the pictures. What can’t be seen is her absolutely fantastic approach. She is always above things, can make fun of herself, doesn’t demand that a photo please her, and the feeling from the photograph as a whole matters more to her. She is absolutely reliable and modest, willing at any time to realize photographers‘ crazy ideas even in the most unfavourable conditions.
All this despite the fact that within a single year she appeared in several exhibitions, in many magazines (including cover pages), photographic competitions, calendars and books in the Czech Republic and abroad. She has shot and shoots with a number of excellent photographers, keeps getting interesting offers, and people recognize her on the tram. Despite all this, the only thing that has changed about her is her experience and professionalism. Shooting with Anna is an even greater joy today than a year ago.
