Parcel from Chelyabinsk, 2010

During the year I wrote about three models, but aces come in fours, and the fourth ace, with whom I had the honour of working this year and without whom this list would be incomplete, is the Russian model Viktoria aka Vikencia. She was born in Chechnya, grew up in the Russian city of Chelyabinsk and for the last two years has lived in Prague. She too belongs among the best models I have met.

How important it is to be in the right place at the right time is proven by the fact that Viktoria’s first photographer was the well-known Russian photographer Igor Amelkovich, who lives in Chelyabinsk.

Viktoria first shot with me on 2 July 2010 and has done so many times since. During the first shoot the photograph Parcel from Chelyabinsk was made.

The second half of 2010 meant a literal boom for Viktoria; she was seen at many exhibitions of various authors, appeared in print almost every week, for example in Reflex as the girl in the aquarium in the photographs of Ludmila Foblová, or in Instinkt as part of the Basic Instinct competition – she appeared there three times in my photographs alone and was also one of the six girls who, as the most exposed models of the whole competition, got their own separate block with an interview in the special issue Instinkt Foto Extra (by the way, I photographed all six models, and among them were the Anna and Tereza mentioned here).
